Sorry for asking out of nowhere like this, and you can definitely say no, but I happened to see your answers on Grand Emissary Magolor's survey. Would you be willing to trade me a few oranges for something? I actually offered to cook for him recently, but he asked for a fruity dessert, and I was totally at a loss!
Kyoko really had meant it when she told Kaito not to rush, but she didn't waste much time in getting outside to wait for him. It wasn't like she had anything to do besides fret about this decision anyway, right? Jeez. Gosh. She wanted to support him, sure, but she should have just invented something for him to deliver!
Ah... maybe staying at home so much lately had gotten to her? That made sense. A perfectly good explanation for why she'd thoughtlessly chosen the option involving contact. Case closed, now she was free to just fret about paying him back for it later.
There had been so many options. She could have just asked him to bring over some fruit or something like that. And yet.
Not that Kai minded in the slightest. He did just want more reasons to go for a ride. There had also been an urge to just.. make sure she was there? He hadn't seen her quite as often lately, and normally that was fine but... it was kind of like losing someone had kicked those draconion urges he'd missed out on into high gear without him knowing. Even if she hadn't given him such a good opportunity, Kai might have gotten struck with the urge to find a reason to show up at her door.
So here he was, quietly pulling up to the side of the road outside her house. Parking, he held a hand up in greeting. "Yo. You ready?"
[Be it delivered by one of the robots, tucked carefully into Kai's delivery load, or left by one of the offworlders recruited in Havenwell's current Santa-shenanigans, Kai will receive a letter! It's written nice and legibly, though in a hand that's probably less than practiced with the art of letter writing, and in a few spots, there's some ink buildup where a pen may have sat against the paper while words were mulled over. It reads:]
Kai
Maybe it has something to do with sitting down and thinking things over for a while, but some thoughts can be a little easier to write down rather than trying to find all these words when we're talking face-to-face. It's made me want to write something down for you.
I'm so, so glad that the the both of us came from different worlds, and that we got to meet here. When I first arrived here, I was absolutely sure that I'd never be able to rely on anyone else, and I definitely didn't think that I'd ever end up caring so deeply about someone the way I do for you. The first time I fell for someone, it nearly destroyed me, and I was honestly terrified when I realized that it was happening again. But, with you, there was never any reason for me to worry. I don't think I've ever felt so comfortable and at peace with anyone, even before I told you how I feel, even before I figured out what I was feeling for you was. I'm glad I know now.
I love you, and having you by my side makes me want to look forward to the future. Thank you for always being there for me, and for always being endlessly gentle with my heart.
[Imagine Kai's surprise when one of the last letters he drew from his pile was actually addressed to him.
The last note he'd received had gone... it had been important. A turning point. Kai had made up his mind to do whatever it was he could do. It had taken guts, so Kai had to match.
This one, too, came from a strength deeper than he expected. It took him even more by surprise. He read it once. He read it twice more when he'd found a quiet place to sit, slowly tracing over the words as he held his face. He followed the slopes and curves of 'I love you' until he couldn't quite see it anymore, the lines blurring until Kai scrubbed his eyes with his sleeve. That just made everything feel to bright to look at, the concept of looking forward to a future was just...
He'd folded the letter back up carefully. It came with him to their house, their room. It found its home in one of the bedside drawers, protected by a soft bug and its pretty flower.
There were a number of soft, slow kisses in your immediate future, Shinji.]
[ Whether Shinji leaves the house first this morning or Kaito does, they’ll find two letters left neatly on their doorstep, weighed down against chilly breezes by a small container of actual strawberries. Did they know she had those yet? How early was she sneaking around outside their house to make this delivery? Mysteries.
Both letters are addressed in a flowery but very neat script, the same that fills up the notes inside. ]
Good morning, Kaito!
This is a little sudden, but did I ever tell you about the Happy Grateful Party? I’m pretty sure I didn’t. You don’t have to answer, I’ll go ahead and explain it now.
Not too many months before I ended up in Havenwell, there was a certain friend I wanted to cheer up about various things, but the situation was a little delicate--I thought a sort of indirect approach would be the best, you know? So I asked her to help me plan a party as a big “thank you very much!!” to all of the important people in our hearts, who’d kindly looked after us. It ended up getting kinda out of control, but she got to find some happiness on that day, and we both got to show everyone our gratitude. That was the Happy Grateful Party from the first paragraph!
I’ve been thinking about it off and on lately, because that party was held on December 24. There’s no December here, of course, but it is the 24th day of the last month of the year, so that’s pretty close, right?
Anyway, sorry this letter isn’t a party, but I can’t let it go. You were the first person to make me feel like I had something I could really be grateful for here. You’ve looked after me since the very beginning, even when I was a pain. And you know, despite everything, it seems like I can even be happy sometimes, if there’s someone like you beside me.
So, I know it’s not really your style, but please bear with me and imagine some confetti and flowers and a chocolate river surrounding you when I say thank you, thank you, thank you!
He'd been caught red-handed in the cookie jar of excuses, but who could blame him when they were laid out so conveniently for him and the results were so satisfying? Those tremulous gasps were echoing hot in Kai's ears, as delightful as any of his surprised squeaks. They just also made his stomach flip bit.
"Usually gotta be in the mood," Kai murmured back as he lifted his head, a swipe of pink licking the traces of chocolate from his lips. Oh, look at how rosey Shinji had already gotten. Kai's gaze lingered heavy from spot to spot, making his admiration more obvious than usual. "But I'm not gonna say no if they're right in front of me," he went on with a sneaky grin.
There wasn't actually any chocolate on Shinji's other ear, but that color was too bold to pass up as Kai moved another smooch there.
What a menace you are, Kaito. All of these daring smooches are making short work of Shinji's focus on having a nice and clean time, and while there's a part of him that's still very aware of the shower going next to them, nice and warm by this point no doubt, there's a much, much more compelling part of him that can't stop thinking about how jumping in to clean off would be the end of this particular scenario.
And, honestly, as much as this is an unexpected turn of events, it's hard to deny how appealing this attention is. His face is still nice and red, and his head's already swimming, but there's an undeniably pleasant buzz thrumming through his limbs.
The next smooch earns Kai a soft "Mmh," as he leans up and against that touch. "Hey, let me get another taste." Let him get a better look at your face for his own bit of revenge.
[You know what's equally from absolutely no one? That cute sundress folded (slight haphazardly and not at all identifiable) and sitting on her bed when she gets home one of these days. Really mysterious, to be sure.]
sorry, I thhink I really messed up with Kyoko She's really upset and I only made it worse somehow but she doesn't want to talk to me Can you please just make sure she's ok? I cant be the one comforting her right now
[Then, a few moments after that message is sent, he follows up with,]
you don't have to try and make things right between us I just want her to make it back safe.
What the heck! Startled, Kai's hand shot up a bit into the No Touching Zone as he looked over at her. "Pff, I meant nice for you." If it was nice for her then she wouldn't be putting up with anything!
... but it was really hard not to want to just... put his hand back. So he did. While keeping an eye on her combustion, Kai gingerly let his palm settle back over that soft threshold. Ah, it really was soft.
For a moment after he moved his hand, Kyoko had contemplated at least peeking out through her fingers at him, but ah, nope, that was not to be. Eye contact during boob touch would surely result in instant death.
Nice for her, though, huh. Was it? This definitely wasn't a bad feeling, but the heat engulfing her was so tangled up in embarrassment and anxiety that she couldn't focus on anything except the hope that he wasn't let down by what he found.
That bit of praise did actually soothe her, though, even if it amped up the fluster at the same time. "Oh," she murmbled from behind her hands, "oh... thank goodness."
PLease hurry for real I did something REAlLLY stupid this time!!! where can I hide something big in broad daylight, please help me think, I 'm such an idiot Kaito!!!

January - [CW: touchin a boob]
What the heck! Startled, Kai's hand shot up a bit into the No Touching Zone as he looked over at her. "Pff, I meant nice for you." If it was nice for her then she wouldn't be putting up with anything!
... but it was really hard not to want to just... put his hand back. So he did. While keeping an eye on her combustion, Kai gingerly let his palm settle back over that soft threshold. Ah, it really was soft.
"It is nice though."
no subject
Nice for her, though, huh. Was it? This definitely wasn't a bad feeling, but the heat engulfing her was so tangled up in embarrassment and anxiety that she couldn't focus on anything except the hope that he wasn't let down by what he found.
That bit of praise did actually soothe her, though, even if it amped up the fluster at the same time. "Oh," she murmbled from behind her hands, "oh... thank goodness."
