You're always keepin' yourself busy but you still make time to fuss over me, there's always food, you let me steal you away for things...

Looking after you and doing things for you is just to make myself happy, and food is a basic necessity of life.

[ She was blushing anyway though. Praise accomplished. ]

[ There was a small pause, and then Kyoko leaned her head lightly into that touch. It was fine. This was all still fine. Her eyes shut, and she pulled in a soft breath. ]

... I really love you.

[....... Oh. It was soft and quiet, but it was hard to miss those words that had always been off the table. Kai had never minded. There were so many other ways that Kyoko showed how much she cared, and those had always been enough.

That didn't mean his heart wasn't swelling now. Ah. Oh. It was warm. Very warm. Truly, how could he possibly ask for anything else at all?

He leaned over, pressing a gentle kiss on her head.]
